How should readers feel about Lil Uzi’s new album Pink Tape? The shocking news about Pink Tape’s release came after a long, extended break since his previous project made in 2020, Pluto x Baby Pluto.
Officially released on June 30th, 2023, with 26 featuring songs, Pink Tape received many different reactions and feedback from fans. While I’ve been a fan of Uzi’s music, I’ve noticed the difference in his music style across multiple albums, but more of a copied music flow and style on his new one, by pushing in a different direction and to a different audience.
This new direction surprised many fans. It took a different turn hearing his featured artist, “BABYMETAL”],” on his album, which is a Japanese heavy metal band. This was shocking news because of the change in the music style of the new album. It had more of a vibrant feel, with the genres of hip hop, alternative metal, trap music, and also punk rap. The difference is that so many different genres are used, while in his other albums like Luv Is Rage 2, feature genres only of hip hop and rap, which Uzi usually follows in most his albums.
The song “Werewolf” featured on this new album gives his fans a different perspective on his music, an alternative and metal feel to this song. EFFECT. This feel can also be heard in other songs on the album like “The End” featuring BABYMETAL. This makes the new Uzi album very unique and a likable genre for him compared to his other projects.
I was already impressed by his newer projects, and while I can say that he improved, including his fashion style and also his music. His older albums are still hard to top, so his later songs won’t bypass them. Even with the mixed feelings about his album that I and many fans feel, this album still by far may be his most unique.
