Every year, North Springs collects nominations from the staff of other staff members that stand out in the school.
The Professional of the Year (POTY) is for non-teaching staff, including admin, clerical staff, cafeteria staff, custodians and anyone else who isn’t a teacher of students. This person represents the best of our staff in their work, attitude, helping nature and focus on our main job, our students.
Teacher of the Year (TOTY) is the teacher that is nominated by the staff who represents the best teaching at North Springs. Staff members that are nominated and make it to the final round are then asked to teach a lesson so we can see them in action doing some amazing things in the classroom.
A panel of staff, admin, instructional staff, former TOTY and a parent visit the teachers to see a representative lesson. During these lessons, we see some amazing things. The panel then meets and selects the best teacher as the TOTY.
This year’s POTY is Coach Keith Thomas!
This year’s TOTY is CBI Instructor Katie Butler (and until two weeks ago, nee Hanniger)!
Congrats to the winners and all of the nominees!
