During my childhood years I grew up with three brothers and my dad, so I became “one of the boys” in my family. They were all older than me, so I became experienced with their culture in movies, music and videogames. I would prefer playing videogames or jumping on the trampoline rather than playing Barbie or with my American Girl dolls. Since my brothers were already in high school, I got to meet a lot of their friends so I knew a lot more than I should have at seven years old.
I remember when I was in fourth grade and we had a boy versus girls question off. Some questions were about football and let’s just say I showed no mercy to the boys. At the end my guy friends were pretty upset they lost to the girls. We won fair and square I guess they needed a refresher.
Football has become a part of my life every Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and sometimes Tuesdays. When I was younger, I would get up at the crack of dawn faithfully on Saturdays, sneak into my parents’ room and get my dad to watch my cartoons with me. Man, oh man it was the life but now I don’t understand how I woke up without someone waking me up! One day he woke me up on a Sunday and he told me “since I watch your cartoons on Saturdays, I want you to watch my cartoons on Sundays”. I said okay and I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
Now every Sunday since I was about six, I have been obsessed with football. It is my absolute favorite sport to watch and with my whole family. We always plan out what we’re going to have for dinner whether we cook or pick-up. I’m so glad I got into football because I am so involved with watching the NFL with my dad and brothers on the weekends. We have Saturday meetings and discuss who we are going to pick as the winners of the Sunday games. Currently my dad and I are in first place this year with 140 wins. I am so happy to watch the NFL RedZone on the weekends because there is no better way to watch all the games at once.
