When I wrote about the girls 4×400 meter relay team last, they were first in the state of Georgia and second in the nation. Today, their relay is now first in the nation. The girls track team competed at the GA Region 7-AAAAA Track and Field Championship at Dalton High School in mid-April. They won the championship, taking 94 points in six events. Molly Jackson, Micaiah Ransby, Dorian Perkins and Tyra Williams got the unbeatable time of 3:41.50 in the 4×400 relay. “It feels great. It is a great title to have and we have all worked so hard to get there,” remarked Ransby. Perkins commented, “It is a really amazing feeling, especially because you would never think that you could reach such a goal like that.” The girls then competed at Sectionals at Star Mills on May 2 and competed for the state championship at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany, May 7 through May 9. The girls team got first place for the 4 x 400 race.
